I would add that another great way to keep notes is a handheld voice recorder, especially since they're only about $30-$50 at Best Buy and you can use it over and over. Two other great record keeping resources are digital camera's and video recorders. I've always drawn detailed wiring diagrams for projects that didn't already have detailed blueprints to follow, but now in addition to that I take photo's and/or video (with comments) in case i need to troubleshoot a project i did months/years ago. It's a great piece of firepower for those occasions when a change order is being disputed. Another good use I've found for the digital technology is determining the exact location of a new receptacle box buried by the sheetrockers. It's a great feeling to whip out the camera and pinpoint the problem. Enjoyed the site you've built, take it easy!
